About Us

'Āina

– from the Hawaiian word for land, earth.

Sana

– from the Latin word for healthy, whole, sane.

Our Story

Ainasana comes from two words with deep meaning: Āina (Hawaiian for “land” or “earth”) and Sana (Latin for “healthy” or “whole”). Together, they reflect our passion for living in harmony with nature and caring for the planet.

Our founder spent over two years in Hawai‘i, where the idea for Ainasana was born during a Travel2change yoga and beach clean-up event. Even on remote beaches, plastic waste was everywhere. Witnessing this around the world inspired us to take action and create Yoga for the Ocean — our clean-up initiative that later grew into Ainasana, founded in 2021.

We started by designing eco-friendly yoga mats made from recycled plastic bottles and natural rubber, turning waste into something meaningful. Our goal is simple: reduce plastic pollution and inspire mindful living through yoga, meditation, and sustainability.

Mind, Body, Earth

At its core, Yoga is about connection, connection to who you are and connection to our planet Earth.
